A bi-monthly online quiz for school and undergraduate students across India on the country's civilisation, history, knowledge systems, governance and contemporary developments.
Who can take part. Students enrolled in a recognised school in India, or in an undergraduate (bachelor's) programme at an Indian college. Postgraduate, PhD and research scholars are not eligible.
One attempt. Each edition allows exactly one attempt per student. There is no re-login, re-test or extension for any reason.
English only. Questions are set in English. No translation is provided.
Timing. Start any time in the quiz window, as long as your time allowed can finish inside it. The timer runs from the moment you press Start and cannot be paused.
Camera stays on. You need a working webcam or phone camera; virtual cameras are not allowed. Your face must stay in frame and your eyes on the screen until you submit. A photo is taken from your camera when you start, so the organisers can compare it with your registration photo; it is stored encrypted.
Looking away ends the quiz. The system tracks your eyes and head against a short calibration. Looking away from the screen for about 2 seconds, turning your head, leaving the frame, or a second person appearing ends the quiz and you are disqualified.
Leaving the page ends the quiz. Switching tabs or apps, minimising, reloading, closing or navigating away ends the session immediately. The first time the quiz window loses focus for less than 2 seconds you get one warning. Where your browser supports full screen the quiz runs in full screen, and if you leave it you have 10 seconds to return — at most 2 times.
No screenshots or recording. Screenshot and screen-capture shortcuts end the quiz. Capturing or sharing any part of the quiz is malpractice.
Checked before ranking. Attempts that the system flags, for example because the proctoring signal was lost, are reviewed by the organisers before they are ranked.
Verification first. Registrations are valid only after Bharat Ki Soch verifies your student document. A verification lasts one year.
